The Kano government has established a special unit to promote the health and well-being of adolescent girls and menstrual hygiene management.
According to him, the ministry will begin recruiting over 2,600 new health workers from next week.
Mr Labaran said that early detection was crucial to avoid complications.
The two-day meeting, which was supported by the UK-FCDO Lafiya Programme, was held from November 7 to 8 in Kano.

The commissioner said preliminary data showed that the prevalence rate of hepatitis B in the state stands at over six per cent, aligning with national trends.
According to the commissioner, the focus is to ensure the state records a zero rate of malaria and other related diseases.

The Kano State Commissioner for Health, Abubakar Labaran, said the state would assist smaller drug dealers to acquire shops at the CWC.
The Kano government said it “is looking into elongating maternity leave for breastfeeding mothers from three months to six months.”
