Vandals destroyed six transmission towers on the crucial Apir-Lafia transmission line in Nasarawa, causing severe power supply disruptions, TCN said.
The AEDC announced a power outage affecting several parts of the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday.
It attributed the power outage to a technical fault.
The exercise is scheduled to take place from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The project ends four years of power outage in the facility.
The residents alleged that AEDC is giving preference to consumers on Band A and neglecting those on other bands.
The company assured that its dedicated technical team was working diligently to restore power as quickly as possible.
“We regret to inform you that the power outage is due to a technical fault on the feeder serving these areas,“ AEDC said.
On January 17, the underground 1×400 millimetres (MM) cross-link polyethylene (XLPE) copper conductor was vandalised.
She said AEDC can now provide normal electricity supply from the substation to its customers in the affected areas.
