Four occupants of one of the vehicles in the convoy were injured and hospitalised following the accident, which happened around Dagbolu.
A total of 45 people, including three children, were said to have been on the metal boat.
According to the Kenyan Red Cross, 32 individuals were hospitalised and blood donations were requested.
The fishermen are also asking the state government to support boat workers to develop a robust water transportation system.
Mr Abdullahi said the injured victims were taken to Murtala Mohammed General Hospital, Kano.
