The Accord Party in Osun has said its candidates for state and federal assemblies will emerge through consensus during its primaries scheduled for May 29.
“It is outrageous that a young man was murdered to silence his mother, a popular Accord woman leader,” Accord Party said.
Mr Owoseni noted that Accord Party stood out among other political parties due to its ability to attract organic grassroots support.
Opposition parties are accusing Mr Tinubu of attempting to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.
Each of the participating parties is expected to deliver brief statements at the summit.
The party pegged the nomination and expression-of-interest fees for governorship aspirants at N10 million and N5 million, respectively.
“I restate our endorsement of Mr President for re-election in the best interest of the South-West,” said the Osun governor.
The Accord Party says it has commenced a nationwide e-registration and revalidation of its members.
The defectors said they joined Accord to be part of a “people-led mass coalition” to challenge the ruling APC’s dominance in the state.
The stakeholders stated this in a communique issued at the end of their emergency meeting on Sunday in Ibadan.
