NSCDC warned those planning to perpetrate violence on election day to desist from it, or ”they will be made to face the full weight of the law.”
“At every point in time, the security agencies must be ahead of the criminals. If we are creative, we will always give these criminals a hard time…”
“We can’t allow criminals who are enemies of the state to threaten the future of this great country, which lies largely on education.”
The NSCDC FCT commandant, Olusola Odumosu, led the monitoring and enforcement exercise on Wednesday in Abuja.
“The bad guys should be running to catch up with the pace of the state, and we can only achieve this in the era of intellectualism,” said Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The NSCDC boss urged Nigerians to have faith in security agencies saddled with the responsibility of ensuring law and order in the country.
He reiterated the corps’ commitment to continued proactive and tactical patrol on land and sea to forestall all forms of smuggling.
Mr Tunji-Ojo said he received updates on passport enrolments daily.
“This is where the production, packaging and sales as established brand lubricants to unsuspecting oil users takes place,” he said.
The NSCDC spokesman said the suspects diverted, bagged, and sold the products to unsuspecting buyers and farmers at N25,900 per bag.
