Mr Iliyasu urged other officers to see the promotion exercise as motivation to work harder and prepare themselves for future opportunities.
The Federal Road Safety Corps decorated three corps commanders and three deputy corps commanders in Kaduna on Wednesday.
The appointment followed the retirement of Hajo Bello, who attained the mandatory retirement age of 60 in public service.

The tanker driver was trying to make a turning at the Lafenwa roundabout, lost control and rammed into two vehicles and the fence of a building.
Mr Umar said the accident, which happened at about 9:10 a.m., involved four people, a vehicle and a Bajaj motorcycle.
