Residents said it had permanently mitigated perennial flooding in the area.
According to Mr Idowu, cleanliness is a collective responsibility.
He said the exercise would hold from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with residents expected to participate actively across the council area.
Akinola Idowu, chairman of the Orile-Agege LCDA, on Friday congratulated workers, saying their resilience remains the heartbeat of progress and prosperity.
The council said such acts would attract sanctions.
The campaign will run from January 27 to February 5 across the council area.
