The police arrested a suspected arms dealer, Umar Usman, for possessing three fabricated AK-47 rifles, an AK-47 empty shell and a vehicle during a raid.
Mr Edafe said arms, ammunition, cartridges, laptops, and mobile phones were recovered from the suspects during the period.
The suspect said he was asked to deliver the weapons to his community in Cross River .
Other items recovered from the suspects include a single barrel gun, local pistol, battle axe, face mask, live cartridges and assorted charms.
The Nigeria Customs Service says it has intercepted smuggled arms and ammunition, military uniforms, cocaine and thousands of bottles of codeine.
Mr Ndukwe said that the command recovered five firearms, including an AK-47 rifle, 10 live cartridges and one empty shell of 7.62mm calibre of ammunition.
The police commissioner explained that the suspects were arrested for alleged kidnapping, cultism, armed robbery, murder, human trafficking, and unlawful possession of firearms.
”The suspects were intercepted on two motorcycles. During interrogation, they could not give a satisfactory account of themselves.”
The governor says Amotekun will assume possession of all surrendered arms and ammunition.
