In a statement on Saturday, the management of the varsity urged journalists to always verify their stories before publication.
The protesting students said that the old fee of N47,00 was increased to N95,000.
The union is saying that its members did not partake in the industrial action with ASUU.
The ASUU chairman added that students will “wait indefinitely, pending the payment of lecturers withheld salaries.”
The death was confirmed to journalists on Saturday by the chairman of 21st Century Entrepreneur Hub, Umar Idris, a close associate of the deceased.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called off its eight-month-old strike which began February 14.
So far, those advising the FG on the ongoing ASUU strike are not doing a good job.
The lawmaker said that President Muhammadu Buhari was eager to bring the over eight-month-old strike to an end.
The council said the postponement was its way of publicly declaring its support for ASUU’s struggle to rescue the public university system from collapse.
The award conferment has validated concerns that Mr Buhari’s body language towards the comatose educational sector was non-challant.
