The police is yet to advance reasons why the journalist was arrested, but asked him to return for an interview on Monday morning.
The police have refused to release Umaru Maradun from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) where he’s currently being held.

The incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday while Muslims observed their Isha’i prayers.
During the onslaught, the police killed one bandit, recovered two AK47 rifles and one boxer motorcycle.
Police spokesman said the victims were rescued by the tactical squad of the Command on Tuesday.
The joint tactical teams were able to disperse the hoodlums and rescue 10 kidnapped victims, including a one-year-old baby.
Recovered from the bandits were a motorcycle, eight AK-47 rifles, General Purpose Machine Gun, rocket launcher, and five magazines.
