Ms Sonaike ruled that “For the death of Oluwabamise Ayanwola, you will be hanged by the neck until you are dead. May God have mercy upon you.”
The 22-year-old’s interment came amid much sorrow by relatives and sympathisers who gathered to bid the slain victim farewell.
Justice Sherifat Sonaike of the Tafawa Balewa Square Division of the Lagos State High Court, adjourned the matter till September 29.
The court heard that Ms Ayanwola’s family got to know about their daughter’s death days after the body was found on the bridge.
The family’s lawyer is seeking fiat to prosecute the case on behalf of the state government.
Passengers are asking that technology be deployed to avert a repeat of what they termed the “Bamise saga”.
Ms Ayanwola was found dead with body parts mutilated after boarding the state-run Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) last week.
