Mr Ayuk said victims with minor burn injuries would be transferred to the General Hospital, Calabar, to ease pressure on the teaching hospital.
While noting that the damage was huge, the governor described the incident as “unfortunate.”
Mr Apama appealed for calm, saying the governor was away but would be briefed.
They also alleged that the state chairman was instigating local government and ward party officials against the party leadership at the local level.
The APC official said the ongoing amendment process was to strengthen the values of justice, peace, unity, and progress in the party’s constitution.
”It is a historic convergence of reconciliation, cultural revival, and global attraction for Africa’s biggest street party,” the Cross River governor said.
