Given the Nigerian context, INEC’s approach of using accreditation figures as the basis for calculating voter turnout is faulty.

The tribunal on Friday declared former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as the authentic winner of the July 16, 2022 governorship election in the state.
“People believe that those who have quarantined Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will not be in a position to use them.”
Mr Bello said that the commission had observed challenges faced by voters due to non functionality of the BVAS and was working to address them.
A situation in which BVAS can only be deployed in southern Nigeria in 2023 but not in the north will be rather problematic.
“But for Soludo to have won the election shows that many people with sinister motives have been spoiling the good name of our president.”
Messrs Soludo and Uba, candidates in the ongoing governorship election in Anambra, gave differing assessments of the process.
