He recalled that the groundbreaking of the road was performed by Governor Uba Sani in January 2024.
The IDPs, mostly victims of bandits’ attacks from Chikun LGA, are currently taking refuge in various communities, including the Maraban Rido IDP camp.
Mr Sani appealed to the parents of the abducted schoolchildren to exercise patience, assuring that the government would not let them down.
“Two of the bandits were neutralised while others fled in disarray.’’
A state government official said some of the terrorists are battling with life-threatening wounds.
“After an intense exchange, the superior firepower of the troops forced the criminals to flee in disarray.”
The police said 30 bandits, with some in military gears and bearing dangerous weapons, made efforts to break into a residential area.
The student was found alongside two other kidnapped victims escaped from bandits den. They were exhausted from roaming the bush.
A statement said the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, expressed sadness over the attacks and condoled the family of the slain.
