Dei-Dei Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja has ordered a 20-year-old scavenger, Ali Ibrahim, to be remanded in prison custody for stealing church property.
They all pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy and theft but prayed the court for forgiveness and leniency on the punishment.
The police gave Mr Ismahi a hot chase, arrested him and recovered the mp3 radio from him. He was later processed for arraignment.
The judge, Sulyman Ola, gave the convict an option of N40,000 fine.
The convict went to a mechanic workshop without his knowledge and stole a customer’s vehicle air compressor, engine seating, injector and engine fan.
The convict confessed that he sold the car for N300,000 without documents and the consent of the complainant, the prosecutor told court.
The prosecutor told the court that the defendant dishonestly played multiple games worth N109,000 and refused to pay.
Court sentenced a 26-year-old point of sale (POS) operator Chukwu Philip to six months imprisonment for stealing his employer’s N153,000.
Mr Abdullahi pleaded guilty to the theft and begged for leniency.
The convicts Abdulsalam Adamu, 27, and Benjamin John, 22, both guards of Ollytex Nigeria Limited, Zuba, Abuja, pleaded guilty to theft and begged the court for forgiveness.
