“Taking the security tips seriously will enhance your safety,” the NYSC DG said while addressing corps members at the Borno orientation camp in Maiduguri.
‘’At this juncture, I would like to remind you that white-collar jobs are not readily available,’’ Governor Ahmad Fintiri said.
The DG also cautioned corps members to avoid the temptation of engaging in cultism, drug abuse and other social vices.
“This is where we do not have enough manpower to cover, and this is where the young men and women of NYSC come in.”
NYSC coordinator in Kwara, Francisca Olaleye, on Thursday said 28 corps members who absconded from the programme would repeat the service year.
They must report to camp with their marriage certificates, NYSC said.
The initiative involves a business plan contest among corps members serving in the organisation.
About 5,000 corps members were deployed by the scheme to serve as polling officers during the conduct of the election in the state.
The advisory also asked corpers to keep caution of their environment and refrain from commenting to the media after their release without “official clearance.”
Some of the monitored hospitals in Yola had corps members offering skeletal services to patients with emergencies.
