The complainant had filed a suit against her brother, who inherited their late parent’s house together with her, for selling a room belonging to him without her knowledge.
The judge adjourned the case to June 17 for the defendants to present their witnesses.
They were convicted of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.
Responding, defence counsel, E. E. Ekere, said he was unaware of the allegations raised by the prosecution.
The magistrate, Irene Pati, sentenced the convicts who pleaded guilty to negligent conduct.
Mr Lamidi was arraigned in 2024.
The money was said to form part of the proceeds of an unlawful activity.
The Federal High Court, Lagos Division, ruled that banks and financial institutions “must not recognise ex parte orders obtained from magistrates”.
The judge ordered both banks to prepare and present the account balances of the deceased.
