“I can assure you, however, that we are on top of the situation, and in the shortest possible time, all these challenges will become a thing of the past,” the minister said.
The consumables include bottled water, wines, ketchup, spaghetti, basmati rice, tomato paste, foreign parboiled rice, whipped cream, vegetable oil and others.
Customs generated more than N14 billion from January to April 2022, compared to the N9.6 billion it generated in 2021, representing a 44.9 per cent increase.
Nigeria Customs Service intercepted contraband which Duty Paid Value was put at N31.4 million from April 1 to date.
The contraband drugs were handed over to the state commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Peter Odaudu, in Birnin Kebbi.
