Mr Hassan said that two police officers lost their lives while returning from the operation after suspected bandits ambushed them along the route.
The statement said the mob forcefully removed the woman from custody before killing her.
Mr Muhammad said the command had put in place comprehensive security measures across the state.
Mr Hassan said that about 17 suspected bandits were arrested during a major clearance operation across four local government areas of the state.
The CP vowed that criminals exploiting inter-state boundaries would be brought to justice.
Mr Hassan said the command has launched an investigation to rescue the victim unhurt.
The state police spokesperson said the command warned heavy-duty truck drivers to desist from such unlawful acts.
The operation was launched as part of a renewed, intensified effort to combat insurgents, bandits and other criminal elements across Kaduna and its environs, the police said.
The bandits reportedly stormed the police station in an attempt to free suspected vandals arrested in Kachia LGA.
“The suspect is currently in custody while further investigation is ongoing,“ the police said.
