Mr Obonna urged the hospitality industry to conduct proper guest verification and maintain accurate records of lodgers in line with security protocols.
Mr Baba-Sulaiman directed his palace officials to ensure that the warning was passed to all the settlements of the northern community in Imo.
Mr Obonna said that any establishment found to be enabling or permitting the use of hard drugs would face severe consequences.
Mr Obonna thanked the students for attending the event despite the short notice.
“The drug is another form of crystal meth, which is popularly known as `mkpuru mmiri’, so we advise students to be on the alert,” said the Imo government.
“Remember, a healthy and happy you are the best gift to yourself and those around you, so stay safe, sober and have a wonderful Christmas,” he said.
The Imo government has renewed its campaign against the use of illicit drugs, narcotics and other harmful substances.
