Mr Marwa said the agency had decided to launch a relentless offensive on drug trafficking cartels across the nation.
Mr Marwa was reappointed by President Bola Tinubu for a second tenure of five years on Friday.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said the drugs were recovered from a container at the PTML Terminal of Tincan Island Port in Lagos.
Mr Babafemi said the drugs were intercepted along the Zaki-Biam/ Wukari road on Monday, November 3, while the driver was arrested.
Mr Babafemi said the suspect had been arrested and charged for drug offences in the United Kingdom, but jumped bail and escaped to Nigeria.
Mr Marwa noted that cannabis remained a prohibited substance in Nigeria.
Mr Babafemi stated that the NDLEA operatives also arrested a music artist whose stage name is Steady Boy was on Thursday, October 30.
Mr Babafemi said that the agency would intensify surveillance and apply the full force of the law against perpetrators, owners of property.
According to Mr Babafemi, two suspects linked to the smuggling attempts have been arrested.
Mr Babafemi said that a cargo agent was promptly arrested.
