Mr Obi, in a statement on Tuesdday, described Nigeria as “a nation under siege.”
Mr Obi said, “Please do remember we politicians in your prayers. We are the problem of Nigeria. No other person.”
Mr Obi said, “I thank Governor Makinde for faithfully serving the people of Oyo State.”
Mr Obi extended sympathies to families of the dead victims.
“Ezeife was a champion of truth, a champion of what is good for Nigeria.’’
“Today marks my 62nd birthday, but there will be no celebration because in this month so far, over 327 innocent Nigerians have been killed.”
The former vice presidential candidate of the party in the 2019 election was unhappy with the level of insecurity and poverty in the nation.
Mr Obi made his intentions public during a visit to Anambra Traditional rulers on Thursday.
The former governor said Mr Soludo “possesses the required vision that can move Anambra State to the next level.”
Mr Obi noted that a state of emergency should first be imposed on Nigeria which also faces dire security challenges.
