The council spokesman, Gambo Garba, said the exercise was a continuation of the 2024 Zakkat collection and distribution exercise.
The judge issued a direct criminal summons against Mr Soludo for perjury, corruption and false declaration of assets, an action which was outside the jurisdiction of his court.
He pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.
According to the prosecution counsel, all efforts made to recover the stolen items failed.
“The defendant used the counterfeit N1,000 note to buy suya of N300.”
The convict was, however, given an option to pay a fine of N20, 000.
