The Katsina police command said the measure is to ensure free, fair, credible and peaceful election.
The police said “the suspected bandits rustled seven cows and were on their way into the forest” when they were neutralised.
“The police and other security agencies have by this directives been mandated to enforce the dismantling of all ‘Yan Sa Kai’ activities.”
The Katsina government has directed that goats and sheep should not be affected by the recent security containment order in the state.
SP Gambo Isah, the command’s spokesperson who disclosed this in a statement, on Sunday, in Katsina, said 38 cows and 11 sheep were recovered.
The police command in Katsina says it has arrested six persons for supplying petrol and bread to bandits.
The victim revealed that one of the suspects took him to a particular location where he threatened him with a knife and tied his hands.
Police have ordered herdsmen and other road users to seek alternative routes as President Muhammadu Buhari visits Katsina today.
