Governor Caleb Mutfwang has acknowledged the role of traditional rulers, presenting all first-class chiefs with brand-new official vehicles.
Mr Mutfwang said the initiative would also empower communities to take the lead in the peace-building process of the Tinubu-led administration.
On Tuesday, Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Buba, lamented pervasive poverty in communities hosting mining sites in Plateau.
“I expect that you will, in turn, shun any act that oppresses the people or puts undue pressure on them,” said Mr Lalong.
The Sultan was speaking at the celebration of Plateau Day and Forgiveness Day on Tuesday at Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos.
Mr Obi made the promise at a rally organised by the Middle Belt Forum on Thursday in Jos.
“No security agency can bring peace in Plateau until individuals and communities restore it collectively,’’ said the traditional ruler.
The traditional ruler blamed illicit drugs and other substances for the circle of violence in the state.
