Mr Yahaya said Gombe has abundant arable landscape and human resources that could be harnessed to support the food security efforts of the federal government.
He said the decision was made in response to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) ‘s recent announcement regarding adjustments to the 2024 Hajj fare.
The council also approved N10.4 billion for constructing 77-kilometre roads in Kwami Funakaye, Nafada and Yamaltu-Deba local government areas.
The commissioner said the state government would settle the backlog from 2018 to 2022.
