A cow led by a Fulani herder broke the side mirror of OPC’s vehicle, and violence ensued, said the police.
The group condemned the occupation of their forests by herdsmen, from where they allegedly unleash attacks on the natives.
The police said they apprehended a staff of the farmer, in connivance with his friend, on their way to Kano with stolen 36 rams and six goats.
Awemi Maisamari said all witnesses so far emphasised how a helicopter was used to coordinate the attack, and the details they supplied have been documented.
“It is unacceptable for worshippers to be mowed down in a church,” a party spokesman said. “It is sacrilegious.”
The police charged Ibrahim Tukur, 22; Ahmodu Riskuwa, 35, and Babuga Umaru, 30, with conspiracy, murder and unlawful possession of firearms.
”The state government will also set up a task force in all the LGAs. The task force will be equipped with all it entails to ensure the security of our farmers…”
Mr Ganduje was in a meeting with President Buhari on Friday to clamour for the establishment of another military base in the Kano forest.
Local authorities believed that the fire might have been started by a lighted cigarette stick dumped in the area.
“During the attack believed to be carried out by suspected herdsmen, seven persons were killed, while another seven injured.”
