Mr Olukoyede stated, “Some of these guys can’t be seen in broad daylight; you have to plan your operations very professionally.”
The EFCC said the convicts are Martins Emmanuel, Abeeb Olamide Asiru, Iremide Owolabi, and Quadri Abdulrasheed Adio.
“The suspects were arrested following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in computer-related fraud,” EFCC said.
“Credible intelligence showed that the alleged party was initially scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, 2024.’’
The commission said the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
EFCC chair Ola Olukoyede claimed that seven of 10 Nigerian students are internet fraudsters.
Mr Shanu first got on the U.S. security radar after a victim’s mother in May.
The EFCC recovered five vehicles, 32 mobile phones, eight laptops and incriminating materials from the suspects.
The EFCC said 16 of the suspects have already been indicted, while seven others were still under investigation.
The EFCC stumbled on hard evidences against the convict while investigating another convicted fraudster.
