The governor said the beneficiaries were selected following recommendations by the Kaduna State advisory council on the prerogative of mercy after a review of eligible cases.
The governor believes that “investing in young minds is one of the surest ways to secure lasting peace, prosperity, and development”.’
The commissioner said he aimed to gather first-hand information from the communities affected by security concerns to present it to Mr Sani for prompt action.
Some of the items included rice, beans, blankets, mats, sewing machines, grinding machines, water pumps for dry-season farmers, sprayers, fertilisers, and seedlings.
Governor Uba Sani has retained senior government officials of his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai, to help him run Kaduna.
