No fewer than 198 households affected by the 2024 flood disaster in Kano Municipal Federal Constituency received relief materials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), an official said
Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf stated this during the distribution of the relief items to persons affected by the disaster in Minjibir and Gabasawa local government areas.
He urged beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by making judicious use of the items.
The returnees arrived at the airport at about 10:35 a.m. on board B737-400 SKY MALI Airline plane with registration number UR-CQX.
“The returnees are from different parts of Nigeria, particularly Katsina, Kano, Adamawa, Lagos, Enugu and Edo states, among others.
Mr Abdullahi urged the returnees to learn from their experiences, be law-abiding and avoid illegal migration.
The distributed materials include maize, rice, millet, guinea corn, Indomie, rice, beans and condiments.
Items distributed includes maize, rice, millet, guinea corn, noodles, beans, tomato paste, seasoning cubes, vegetable oil, cement, nails, roofing sheets and ceiling boards.
The returnees comprised 144 males, 56 females and 66 children.
The returnees were returned to the country through a voluntary repatriation programme.
