He said the suspects, aged 28, 38 and 34, were apprehended during their cult meeting on April 26 at Elemoro in the Ibeju-Lekki area of the state.
Mr Hundeyin said the suspect was apprehended following a tip-off from concerned residents.
He said the police had been working in collaboration with the Counter Improvised Explosive Device (CIED) Squadron of the 81 Division, Nigerian Army.
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest to journalists in Lagos on Sunday.
“The girl was taken to the hospital for examination and treatment, while the suspect was immediately detained,” Mr Hundeyin said.
Mr Hundeyin stated that all the stolen phones and N6.5 million had been recovered and registered with the exhibit keeper.
Mr Hundeyin said the incident happened on Monday at 7:00 a.m. at the Bolar site in the Abule-Egba area of the state.
“The intelligence revealed that the syndicate specialises in buying and selling newborn babies, toddlers, as well as children of various ages,” said the police.
Mr Hundeyin said the suspects, both residents of Oniwaya in the Agege area of the state, were apprehended at 1:50 p.m. on Sunday.
Mr Hundeyin said it was not a case of armed robbery, but the attack was a reaction by the suspected motorcyclists to the seizure of their motorcycles.
