The police command in Lagos has apprehended 10 members of a syndicate for defrauding unsuspecting victims of millions of naira.
According to the commissioner, efforts are ongoing to arrest the second suspect who is at large.
The viral video had also depicted operatives as fabricating a traffic offence in the Ikeja area of the state.
She said the investigation revealed that the gang members come from Mushin to carry out their criminal activities in Ikeja.
Mr Hundeyin said that the alleged kidnappers abducted the victims on Wednesday at Ijede in the Ikorodu area of the state.
“The suspects were found with two newborn baby girls, approximately six-day-old, while travelling from Abia State on September 9, 2024,” the police said.
The state’s police spokesperson said the nabbed suspect will be prosecuted.
The Lagos police command on Friday arraigned Muyiwa Edun, 40, before the Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court for stealing an N2.5 million Suzuki minibus.
“The children rescued (names withheld) were between ages 8 years and 14 years.”
Police are on a manhunt for the buyer of a baby stolen by a home help in Shomolu, Lagos.
