The incident which happened in the wee hours of the day was caused by leakage of gas cylinders from a shop.
The cause of the fire and number of casualties are yet to be known.
The 33,000-litre tanker had lost control while on motion, falling on its side and spilling its contents.
The landlord, Daniel Okereke, refuted NEMA’s claim, saying, “nobody was rescued from the property.”
Residents said emergency responders were battling the fire as inflammable objects stored in the shops aided the spread of the fire.
