“The last evacuation flight, which is expected to bring home approximately 300 of our nationals, is expected to arrive in Nigeria next week,” Mr Ebienfa said.
“The reason for this action is simple: South Africans cannot continue to oppress and chase our people from their country and expect their businesses to thrive on our soil,” he said.
According to the ministry, all eligible lost or damaged passports will be replaced within one week.

According to him, the evacuation flight is expected to arrive at about 5:00 a.m. on Thursday.
The affected Nigerians will depart O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.
The condolence was conveyed by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, in a statement in Abuja on Monday.
The statement said only the president has the constitutional authority to appoint ambassadors for Nigeria.
The minister said Nigeria had made significant progress expanding social protection programmes.
She underscored the need for expanded economic opportunities to reduce migration pressures.
