“I was careful with food and medicine during pregnancy,” Ms Okafor said. “I never imagined body cream could be a risk.”
NAFDAC issued the alert on X on Wednesday to notify healthcare professionals, caregivers, relevant stakeholders, and the public.
The manufacturing and expiry dates on the top preprinted sticker were inconsistent with the underlying, originally printed version.
NAFDAC said that the items recovered during the raid included expired non-alcoholic beverages, dairy milk, candies, bottled water and pasta valued at N100 million.
“What the manufacturers only need is to look for an alternative way to package the product to prevent indiscriminate dumping of the sachet in our environment,” he said.
