According to AEDC, the grid failure occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, affecting the power supply to its franchise area.
The lawmakers believe that since the privatisation of the power sector 2013, Nigeria had witnessed over 100 national grid collapses.
The gathering agreed to set up a high power delegation to look into issues brought up by the NUEE and report back within two weeks.
She asserted that the industrial dispute was between two in-house unions in the company.
Power distributors in Kaduna and other parts of the country said they have not been able to receive bulk electricity from the national supply line.
A 25-litre jerrycan of water, which hitherto sold at N30, now costs between N80 and N150, depending on the area.
“The vandalised tower caused a sudden loss of 400MW from the grid, causing its collapse on April 8. The grid has since been restored.”
