The G7 is opposing the recent endorsement of Mr Abass by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
She said that the Lagos state chapter of the Labour Party duly recognises, supports and remains loyal to Mr Julius Abure-led NEC as the authentic party’s national organ.
“We were at the screening yesterday when we learnt that some people constituted themselves in the party’s secretariat to screen some candidates for the elections.”
“What we need is the right leaders to manage the party’s affairs because no party is stronger than the PDP.”
That the sale of nomination forms for the off-season elections in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo states should commence immediately.
Mr Ologunagba said that the PDP met on Thursday and extensively discussed recent developments in the party.
According to the letter, the former speaker says he aligns himself with the request made by the state chapter to the National Working Committee (NWC) for a ‘consensus candidate’
The PDP chieftain said that he supported the APC candidate because it conformed with the existing power-rotation formular in the state.
Mr Ologunagba said that the committee was expected to run the affairs of the party in the state for a period not exceeding 90 days.
