He said discussions are ongoing between the two parties in order to have a single-structure party.
Mr Jibrin described the defectors’ decision as the best course of action.

The decampees, mainly from 11 wards of the area, vowed to work against the return of APC as the ruling party in Kano.
He said that any protest now might be counterproductive.
He said the nominees would help the governor to implement his policies and programmes, as provided by the constitution.
“The 2011 polls recorded 800 deaths, the 2015 polls recorded 100 deaths, and the 2019 polls recorded 150 deaths. However, the 2023 polls recorded no more than 28 deaths.”
He added that issues such as the pre-election matters pending in court had the capacity to declare the PDP as a non-entity in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Mr Zulum overruled the board and argued that its action was “wrongly timed”.
“They just want to prevent us from hosting our presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,” the state chairman of NNPP alleged.
