The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has begun the evacuation of overtime cargoes to help decongest the port.
He said that the seizure of the donkey skin and meat was among the 17 smuggled items intercepted by the command between April 15 and May 15.
The Nigerian Customs Service, Onne area command, says it generated over N220 billion in 2022 and targets over N360 billion in 2023.
The smugglers opened fire on customs officers after they impounded 40 bags of smuggled rice and 30 jerry cans of petrol hidden in a nearby bush.
Customs spokesman Timi Bomodi told journalists in Abuja that the present administration had zero tolerance for corruption.
The comptroller said some of the items were handed over to relevant regulatory authorities for further action.
A total of 3,712 pieces of donkey skin and three bags of donkey organs measuring 100kg were confiscated.
