Mr Oyebanji said the occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the bravery and selflessness of members of the armed forces.
Mr Wolimoh welcomed the new service chiefs.
Mr Wolimoh said that the warning became necessary because of activities of certain individuals fraudulently parading themselves as representatives of the legion.
The governor pledged his administration’s continued support to the veterans and families of the fallen heroes.
President Bola Tinubu commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their unwavering efforts towards combatting insecurity.
“We have about 350 registered widows of fallen heroes in Lagos State.’’
“Our military personnel have dedicated themselves to keeping the country and its people safe, often at great personal cost,” said Abdul-Malik Jibril.
Mr Jibril said inclusion in the budget would make the legion perform better.
He said the country owed a debt of gratitude to its gallant troops, who have risen to the challenge of securing the country.
The governor noted that families of fallen heroes were going through a lot and the best Nigerians can do is to support them.
