President Buhari on Sunday gave a pep talk to the Super Eagles, ahead of their second round match against Tunisia.
The matches will be held in March with Ghana hosting the first leg.
“The entire country looks forward with hope to a total of seven emphatic wins in this competition. Three down, four to go,” Mr Buhari said.
“The most credit must go to the players for doing everything we told them to do,” said Eguavoen.
“I feel happy. I am back and very good now. I had a little knock and had been recovering with the physios, but right now, I am back,” he said.
The Super Eagles will take on Guinea Bissau next in their final group game on Wednesday.
The Eagles went into first half break with a 2 goal lead, leaving Sudan with a huge mountain to climb.
Moses Simon says the tactics deployed by Mr Eguavoen has generally improved Super Eagles’ game.
The country’s national team narrowly defeated the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday.
“Egypt, as we all know, have won the most number of titles (seven times) in the AFCON and are a very strong side with one of the best coaches and players.”
