The Nigeria Labour Congress has called on the federal government to prioritise social dialogue in 2025.
“A strike action will disrupt the education sector, affecting both students and teachers. “
Protests over hunger and economic hardship have already been recorded in parts of the country, including Minna, Ibadan, Kano, etc.
“This is to demonstrate our outrage and stop the continuing violation of the rights and privileges of workers in the state,” said the NLC president.
President Bola Tinubu will, in a national broadcast Monday, address Nigerians by 7:00 p.m.
Organised Labour had earlier raised alarm that the Kaduna government was recruiting thugs to disrupt their demonstration.
The labour union called the strike action to protest the legislature’s bill to remove its power from negotiating minimum wages.
