“Obi has the potential to emerge as president in 2027 if we put our acts together,” Mr Tanko said in Onitsha.
“We, the Obidient Movement, hereby state clearly that the only candidate Obidients support in Imo State for governorship 2023 is Senator Athan Achonu.”
“What shocked me was that the ordinary citizen, who was usually underrated, made the point of his political understanding of things.”
The senator-elect, in an interview on Friday, attributed her victory at the poll to the Obidient movement.
“I am not a proponent of the Labour Party from top to bottom. For me, Mbah ticks all the boxes of character, capacity and competence, and that’s why he’s my candidate.”
The Labour Party governorship candidate Beatrice Itubo stepped down and adopted the All Progressives Congress candidate in Rivers.
