The Lagos State government had accused the BRT driver of the rape and murder of a 22-year-old fashion designer, Ms Ayanwole.
The Lagos government assured the Ayanwola family that the state will not relent in its effort to ensure that justice is served in the case.
The defence counsel argued that there’s a possibility his client’s confessional statement was falsified or forcefully obtained.
Mr Ominikoron is charged before a Lagos High Court on five- count bordering on felony, conspiracy, rape, murder and sexual assault.
On Tuesday, the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court ordered BRT driver Andrew Ominnikoron to be remanded in prison custody.
The boys were lured into a tricycle with biscuits by two strangers dressed in native attires while returning from school.
Ms Ayanwola was found dead with body parts mutilated after boarding the state-run Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) last week.
“You need to do a lot of configuration before you can put CCTV cameras in them so we are speaking with the manufacturers of that.
The House said that the security agencies should ensure that the alleged killers of the 22-year-old lady were brought to justice.
Several passengers were left stranded on Tuesday morning at the various BRT terminals across the state.
