Ishaq Akintola, MURIC’s director, placed the demand following the announcement of the arrest of suspected attackers by the Chief of Defence Staff, Leo Irabor on Tuesday.
A Peoples Gazette reporter who visited the scene of the attack Thursday afternoon noticed expended bullet casing littering the premises of the construction site.
The governor warned that public and private institutions that violate the ‘Executive Order’ to install CCTV cameras in their vicinity will be prosecuted.
“We are after the criminals. It is only when we allow them to thrive that they will be able to carry out their nefarious activities.”
“We have recovered the last vehicle they (terrorists) used for that operation before they jumped into the bush and we made some arrest.”
The president enjoined the citizens to always show the enemies of peace that Nigerians would never be bullied by cowards, extremists or terrorists.
Some of the items include 120 bags of 10kg rice, 120 bags of 10kg beans, 120 bags of 10kg maize, 10 bags of 50kg salt and 50 cartons of bath soap.
The organisation also said that it would assist the Edo government to take out-of-school children in the state back to their classrooms.
The figures were released on Friday at the funeral service for the deceased of the Owo massacre.
“The extension was sequel to the resolution of the South-West Governors’ Forum to observe a three-day mourning period, starting from Monday to Wednesday.”
