Abdullahi Bayawo has emerged winner of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) primary for the November 11 Kogi governorship poll.
A PRP aspirant, Patience Key, is challenging the emergence of Mr Abiola as the party’s presidential candidate, among others.
Mr Yakasai made the declaration at a media dialogue organised by the state correspondent chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Wednesday.
He said the call became imperative in view of the critical role played by youth and women in the democratic processes.
Voters were said to have lost confidence in the process and felt their votes might not count even if they exercised their franchise.
