INEC says the collection of PVCs at the registration areas and wards starts on Friday (today) in Rivers.
The collection will last till January 22, 2023, between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including Saturdays and Sundays.
“We would, however, not succumb to such cheap blackmail but ensure that such facilities are adequately protected across the state.”
Mr Longpet said only 13,689 of 152,984 voters who registered between 2019 and 2020 had collected their PVCs.
The Ondo governor asked the electorates to dig into the antecedents of the prominent presidential candidates.
Mr Gumel said that the command will return the unclaimed cards to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The electoral body chief Mahmood Yakubu said the agency was concerned about the emerging dimension of insecurity which was formerly confined to the North-East.
Some voters at the polling area also said they entered a vote-buying deal with agents of the ruling APC.
“This is our reality, a sad and unimaginable one. Fellow Nigerian youths and students have another opportunity to elect a new leader who shall steer our affairs.”
The electoral body said it was “warning eligible people in the South-East to avoid last minute rush. A stitch in time saves nine.”
