The party reaffirmed Mr Obi’s right to contest the 2027 elections should the ongoing coalition efforts fail.
Mr Obi criticised the poverty level in the region due to untapped potential.
“This is a religious war,” Mr Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023, said in a leaked audio published by People Gazette.
According to him, northern Nigeria is a huge asset to the country.
The meeting was part of moves by the opposition to unseat Mr Tinubu in 2027.
Mr Obi advocated robust reinforcements in the security forces, noting the federal government must show readiness to protect people affected by the insurgency.
