The police command in Oyo has arrested 1,216 drivers without third-party vehicle insurance cover while on the highway.
Mr Abutu stated that said investigations showed that the suspects were members of a particular cult group travelling to Kwara State for an operation.
Mr Agbonika said that the victims were rescued without ransom payment through coordinated intelligence-led operations.
Mr Shiisu said, “The tragic incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m, prompting an immediate response from a patrol team to the scene.’’
The police inaugurated ‘Operation Udogachi-Zero Kidnapping in Anambra on April 14 to ensure a safe environment for residents and visitors.
“The victim, an Arabic pupil, was reportedly housed in the suspect’s residence, where he was subjected to inappropriate conduct for two months,” said the police.
The deceased were Shayibu Hamza (48), Abdulmalik Yahya (29), Jamilu Inusa (29) and Ibrahim Musa (42). They were all residents of Firo village in Ganjuwa LGA.
The police command in Lagos has assured adequate security, public safety and peaceful celebration before, during and after the easter periods.
“He is currently in custody, and arrangements are being made to charge him to court without delay,” the police said.
The police spokesperson urged members of the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police.
