The Nigerian vice-president provides an update about the regime’s social intervention policies.
Osinbajo says it will “just wasting a lot of time” if Nigerian leaders are not willing to make sacrifices and risk their popularity to attain lasting solutions in violent conflict.
Mr Osinbajo, made this remark in Abuja on Friday at the inaugural meeting of the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy Steering Committee held at the Presidential Villa.
“What have they done to allow the local government structures to operate optimally?”
“We must not sound like the children of Israel, fearful before Goliath, petrified and complaining at the Red Sea, as Pharaoh and his hostile hosts approached,” he urged.
“As we speak, 60 inmates who returned on their own voluntarily are in our custody. Some of them were brought back by their parents, custodians.
“The more Nigerians are vaccinated the more we are safe.”
